Extension of the Post-Study Work Visa

The Australian government declared the list of different qualifications that can apply for an extended post-study work permit, giving individuals the right to stay and work. Extended post-study work rights are specially planned for international students because they have more limitations related to the workforce in Australia. The period of stay and work in Australia will increase for those people who are eligible for specific study criteria. Here is a list of such qualifications:

• Four years for bachelor's degree graduates, up from two years previously.
• Five years for Master's degree graduates, up from three years previously.
• Six years for doctoral graduates, up from four years previously.

Eligibility

You are eligible for this extension if you meet the qualifications and visa eligibility criteria.

• It would help if you had a post-study work stream of the Temporary Graduate Visa(subclass485)
• Your qualification is a must in a list released by the Australian government.   

Here is a list of eligibility criteria who can apply for extended post-study work rights:

• You have a Temporary visa(post-study work stream) on 1 July 2023.
• You have applied an application for a Temporary Graduate visa(post-study work stream) by 1 July 2023.
• You have applied an application for a Temporary Graduate visa(post-study work stream) after 1 July 2023.

If your Temporary Graduate visa expires before 1 July 2023, but you have eligible qualifications, you can apply for this extension.

How to apply

If you have met the qualification criteria of extended post-study work rights and have a Temporary Graduate visa on 1 July 2023 or have applied for an application before. After 1 July 2023, your visa will automatically increase by two years.

But if your Temporary Graduate visa expires before 1 July 2023, you must apply for Temporary activity (subclass 408).

Unrestricted hours for aged care workers

The Australian government also declared students already working in aged care. They can continue to work for open hours till December 2023.

Apart from that, a person can easily apply for this extension but must balance their work or study correctly. For this, you must have good course attendance and good exam grades.
